Enjoyable Jigsaw Activity(Used for Introducing One another)

On Thursday our class had a jigsaw activity. Through the jigsaw activity we introduced ourselves to everyone directly or indirectly. Let me write about the technical process. First, we got into groups of four and introduced ourselves to the others in the group(teachers holding a piece of paper with A1, B1, C1, D1 written on it were in the same group, and teachers with A2, B2, C2, D2 in the same one, and teachers with A3, B3, C3, D3 in  one). After this, we made new groups of three with other teachers than teachers from the former group, and introduced each teacher from the former group to the teachers of this new group(this time, teachers holding a piece of paper with the same alphabet got together). Introduction can sometimes be monotonous. However, this jigsaw activity made introduction enjoyable. That is because we got into smaller and thus more 'intimate' groups to introduce one another rather than stand in front of the whole class still feeling distant from one another. Also, each person got to introduce not only himself/herself but also others. During this stage,  we had to reconstruct what we had heard from others holding the responsibility to make a nice introduction on others. In addition, we felt as if we knew well the person we introduced. I realized a jigsaw activity can enable students to share information by talking to one another cooperatively and reconstructing what they learned in an organized way understandable to others.
